 Sampson County NC Heifer Showman

Around 200 heifers competed at the North Carolina Jr. Beef Round Up at the state fairgrounds in Raleigh the first weekend in June.  Here is a picture of me with my Limousin heifer M&M.  Youth also participated in a photo & poster contest.  Skillathon and a Heifer Makeover were also activities to keep youth busy.  The extreme makeover is where you setup teams of 4 people to wash, blow-dry, and prepare their heifer for a show.

A little about Wyatt

A short Bio about Wyatt:

My Dad and Mom showed the same animals that I show when they were my age, so they passed down the hobby for me to enjoy as well. I do Skillathon and judging with my parents as the coaches. We also go to a lot of cattle and sheep sales. Finally, I am involved with out county 4-H program. I participate in presentation contests, youth leadership and club activities.

Wyatt's favorite part of showing livestock:

My favorite part of showing livestock is that I get to hang out with my friends. Also, I like to be around the animals that I show as well.

Wyatt's biggest accomplishment showing livestock:

My biggest achievement in exhibiting sheep was 12 year old Champion Showman in Louisville, Kentucky. My biggest achievement in showing swine was probably reserve Showmanship at the NC State Fair. My best achievement in cattle would likely be getting both Grand and Reserve Champion Heifer at the NC State Fair.
